Mack & Mary Gordon

Mack entered the military near the end of World War II. After he finished basic training he was sent to the Philippine Islands in the South Pacific. Soon after he arrived the war ended but there were Japanese soldiers in the jungle that did not know the war was over. They would come out of the jungle and attack them. I remember him telling this story ~~ he and some of the other men went swimming in the ocean. There was an old wrecked Japanese plane on the beach that had been shot down and they hung their clothes on it. They also left their guns there. While they were swimming some  Japanese soilders came out of the jungle and opened fire on them. They had to run naked back to the old plane and dodge the bullets.
